– Sprouting Culture & Community –

I recently photographed Ransom Haitema of Profe Urban Landscaping—portraits of him and the plant installations he’s crafted for local businesses. Ransom’s approach is all about transforming interior and exterior urban environments into living, colorful spaces—using plants as both art and function. His installations bring biodiversity into places where space is limited, whether that’s a restaurant patio, commercial office, or an apartment courtyard.

I’m drawn to the way greenery shifts the energy of a space, and documenting his work was a natural fit. These images support his portfolio and digital marketing, while also spotlighting a local business rooted in sustainability, permaculture, and community. Influenced by his Mexican heritage and the spirit of Mexico City, Ransom’s vibrant designs reimagine how we experience the urban landscape–turning concrete corners into places where plants, people, and pollinators can thrive.
